Daria was born on October 9, 1986 in Siberian town Bratsk in the family of an engineer and a nurse. She graduated from gymnasium in her hometown and from philological faculty of Lomonosov MSU in 2008. She did postgraduate studies there as well.
After being awarded a diploma Daria worked as a journalist. In 2013 Daria left the occupation of defence correspondent in "Izvestiya" newspaper and started a brand of women's clothes and accessories. Daria's first collection won in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia competition. Then the young designer released a few collections dedicated to youth, feelings' awakening and childhood memories.
Daria founded "Russian Seasons" festival by inviting Russian designers, craftsmen, politicians, representatives of production and retail to the conversation in the Four Seasons Hotel in Moscow. Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Russia supported the festival. Russian Seasons became one of the brightest and unique events in Russian fashion industry and started a trend of reinterpretation of Russian crafts in modern fashion and design.
Daria puts an emphasis on the discovery of new names and support of young talents in fashion industry.
Since 2016 Russian Seasons competition of young designers is supported by Vogue. During a few years the competition was juried by chief editor of Vogue Russia Masha Fedorova, vice-president of Mercury and TsUM fashion director
Alla Verber, architect Sergey Choban and Frol Burimskiy. 2018 Finalist's collection was purchased by TsUM Department Store. First international showcase "Russian Seasons" was opened in 2018-2019 on eBay, presenting clothes, accessories, kitchenware, interior design items and setting made by competitors.
Daria started the program of young innovators support Seasons Tech in 2019 with the assistnce of "Innopraktika" company and in conjunction with Moscow Export Center, MSU Higher School of Business and other organizations.
Daria became a head of Russian Seasons Maison in 2020 and worked out first capsule collection with the use of Tarusa embroidery and Karelian ornaments. In the same year Russian Seasons started self-named marketplace – digital global platform, where customers from all over the world can acquire a great number of products made by best Russian designers and brands, including products of "Russian Seasons" Maison.
In 2025, Daria announced the launch of the international cultural festival Russian Seasons Arabia in Dubai, UAE.
Daria Matsievskaia is married and raises a daughter.
